India is a country with a long history of different and celebrated cultures. In India, each culture has its own set of exquisite customs, festivals, and rituals. These practises have been practised for generations and have a significant mythological underpinning. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of India's most beautiful festivals.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu celebration commemorating the birth of Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva's and Goddess Parvati's son. People pray to Lord Ganesha with tremendous dedication and admiration during this festival. Various festivities take place throughout the course of eleven days during the festival. In celebration of the important event, a special type of dessert called modak is produced. This event is largely observed in Maharashtra. The worshippers transport their idols to the ocean at the end of the eleven days to say goodbye to Lord Ganesha in the iconic visarjan.
